More Than 18% Of U.S. Adults Reported Current Treatment For Depression In Both 2024 & 2025

The percentage of U.S. adults who report currently having or being treated for depression exceeded 18% in 2024 and 2025, according to a recent Gallup survey and report. That is an increase of about eight percentage points since 2015, the survey report stated. Adults who report having been diagnosed with depression in their lifetime is at 28.5%, slightly below the 29.0% percentage measured in the first quarter of 2023, the report stated.
