Between 47% and 64% of Medicaid beneficiaries with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) who were enrolled in home- and community-based services (HCBS) programs in selected states had an additional health condition in 2019. The additional health conditions included behavioral health conditions, such as anxiety disorders, and chronic physical conditions, such as high blood pressure. Comprehensive HCBS programs cover round-the-clock personal and homemaker service care for these individuals.
