More Than 60% of Medicaid Beneficiaries Were Employed In 2023
In 2023, 44% of Medicaid enrollees under the age of 65 were employed full-time, and an additional 20% were working part-time. According to the analysis by KFF, a non-profit organization focused on health policy, just 8% of Medicaid enrollees were unemployed because they were retired, unable to find work, or for other reasons. A total of 10% were not working because of an illness or disability, while 12% were unemployed because they were serving as a caregiver. Another 7% were not working because they were in school.
