National Per Capita Alcohol Consumption Decreased 1.2% Between 2021 & 2022
Per capita consumption of ethanol from any type of alcoholic beverages combined in 2022 was 2.50 gallons, representing a 1.2% decrease from 2.53 gallons in 2021. For the first time since 1969, the 2022 per capita consumption of ethanol from spirits was higher than from beer.
