Nearly one in three (31%) of older adults and people with disabilities receiving Medicaid long-term services and supports (LTSS) have unmet service needs, according to 2021 to 2022 national survey data collected in 15 states through National Core Indicators—Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD). The most widely cited service needs were for homemaker services (38%), personal care assistance (30%), and transportation (27%).
