Nebraska Begins Transferring Child Welfare Cases To New Contractor

On October 21, 2019, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) began transferring child welfare case management records in the Eastern Service Area (ESA) from PromiseShip to Saint Francis Ministries, the new contractor for the ESA starting January 1, 2020. Cases will be transferred weekly. By January 1, 2020, DHHS will have transferred about 1,500 cases to Saint Francis Ministries. By starting the transfers before the formal contract start date, DHHS seeks to avoid disruption of service for children and families.
