Nebraska Creating New Family Supports Waiver For Children With Developmental Disabilities On The Waiting List
Newly signed legislation directs the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to create and apply for a new Medicaid waiver to administer a pilot family support program for children with developmental disabilities. The waiver services are intended for the 850 children currently on the DHHS Developmental Disability waiting list. The new program will offer home and community-based services (HCBS) aimed at reducing a child's need for emergency services in a behavioral health crisis.
Nebraska Legislative Bill 376 (LB 376) directs DHHS to submit a new 1915(c) waiver application to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid . . .
