Nebraska Medicaid Selects Molina, UnitedHealth Care & Nebraska Total Care As New MCOs

On September 23, 2022, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) selected three managed care organizations (MCOs) to provide health care services for Nebraskans in Heritage Health, its Medicaid managed care program. The selected health plans are Molina Healthcare of Nebraska, Nebraska Total Care, and UnitedHealth Care of the Midlands. The new contracts will initially run from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2028. Two one-year optional renewals may take these contracts to 2030. Contract values are determined by law and based on utilization.
