Nebraska Partners With One Heart Project To Improve Juvenile Justice Reentry
On August 31, 2020, the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) and the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center launched a partnership with the One Heart Project to improve juvenile justice services by providing a holistic set of community reintegration services to youth offenders. One Heart Project is initially working with males between ages 16 to 19. Additional Nebraska youth populations will be included later in 2020. One Heart provides social and emotional intelligence education, one-on-one mentoring, life skills training, employment, and re-entry services. The goal is to reduce youth recidivism rates and produce prosocial behavior change.
