Nevada Awards Four Medicaid Managed Care Contracts—Aetna, United, Centene & Amerigroup

On November 2, 2016, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services awarded four Medicaid managed care contracts, each valued at $7.5 million annually. The contracts went to: Aetna Better Health of Nevada Inc.; Amerigroup Nevada Inc.; UnitedHealthcare subsidiary Health Plan of Nevada; and Centene subsidiary SilverSummit Healthplan Inc. Pending regulatory approval and successful completion of readiness review, the four-year contracts are slated to begin on July 1, 2017. The initial contract term is followed by the possibility of two one-year extensions.
