U.S. Mental Health Claims Up 83% Since 2019 & Continue To Rise
Mental health claims were rising in the U.S. in 2019 (prior to COVID-19) and have continued to rise through 2023, according to recent analysis from LexisNexis® Risk Solutions. Between 2022 and 2023, mental health claims increased by 11%. Since 2019, claim volume has increased 83%. The percent increase of claims is significantly higher than the percent increase of unique health care consumers, which suggests that existing consumers are receiving care more frequently.
