New Hampshire Ranks Best In Overall Child Well-Being; New Mexico Ranks Last
As of the end of the 2022 school year, New Hampshire ranked best in the nation in terms of overall child well-being, and New Mexico ranked last, according to an analysis of national and state-level indicators of child well-being in four domains. The domains are: economic well-being, education, health, and family and community. The five top ranked states are New Hampshire in first place followed by Massachusetts, Utah, Vermont, and Minnesota. The five lowest-ranked states are New Mexico in the lowest place, with Mississippi, Louisiana, Nevada and Oklahoma ranking slightly higher.
