New Jersey Expands CON Availability For 864 New Psychiatric Beds
On February 3, 2017, the New Jersey Department of Health filed a Certificate of Need (CON) Call for 864 new adult acute care psychiatric beds. The state estimates it needs 40 adult inpatient psychiatric beds per 100,000 adults; it currently has 2,343 beds, and projects that it will need 2,751 beds, a 40% increase. .
