New Jersey To Launch Mobile Crisis Program For People With I/DD & Co-Occurring Mental Health Needs

On February 28, 2024, the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) released a request for proposals (RFP) to launch a mobile crisis intervention program for people living in southern New Jersey who have intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring mental health (MH) needs. The program will be based on the national Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Respite, and Treatment (START) Model. It will provide community-based, mobile crisis prevention and intervention services to strengthen and enhance crisis services for individuals with I/DD-MH who live in the 12 counties in the southern region.
