New York City Audit Finds Intensive Mobile Treatment For SMI Has Good Retention, But Gaps In Oversight & Coordination
New York City’s Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) program for people with severe mental illness has gaps in oversight and coordination, inadequate performance metrics, failure to follow-up on corrective action plans, and declining success at placing people in stable housing, according to an audit by the city comptroller. The city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) established the IMT program in 2016. Its goals for the program include increasing participant retention, reducing incarceration, and securing stable housing.
