New York Medicaid Selects Nine Entities To Share $500 Million To Create New Regional Social Care Networks
On August 7, 2024, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the Department of Health (DOH) selected nine organizations to create 13 new regional Medicaid social care networks (SCN) to integrate social care and health care services. The SCNS will address health disparities in low-income communities by leveraging federal funding to facilitate Medicaid members access to nutritional meals, housing supports, transportation and other social services. The nine organizations will share a total of $500 million over the next three years to create the SCNs.
