New York Medicaid To Consolidate Fiscal Intermediary Contracts For Consumer-Directed Services
The New York Medicaid program plans to consolidate its fiscal intermediary contracts for the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) to a single statewide contract. For the CDPAP, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) currently contracts with more than 600 provider organizations serving as fiscal intermediaries for about 250,000 people with disabilities. CDPAP participants have a budgeted number of hours for personal care aide services to assist with activities of daily living. The fiscal intermediary facilitates state payment for the personal care aide. The change was included in the state’s budget for 2024-2025.
