New York To Open Applications For IDD Managed Care Entities

On August 8, 2014, the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) released draft qualifications for managed care entities seeking to become Developmental Disabilities Individual Support and Care Coordination Organizations (DISCOs). OPWDD plans to start consumer enrollment in the DISCO plans by October 1, 2015. The DISCO benefit package includes care management and coordination for a core set of Medicaid long-term care service and supports for all individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD), and an enhanced benefit package for people enrolled in New York's Developmental Disability Medicaid waiver.
