New York To Expand Home-Based Crisis Intervention Pilot For Youth With I/DD & Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders
On April 3, 2025, the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) released a request for proposals (RFP OMH01 #146) to expand the number of Home-Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) teams serving youth under age 21 with co-occurring mental health disorders and intellectual disabilities/developmental disorders (I/DD) across the state. The pilot services are intended to provide short-term critical mental health services so that at-risk children and youth can avoid psychiatric hospitalization. With this RFP, OMH is expanding a pilot that started in 2024 with two HCBI teams to have six HCBI teams.
