Newton County, Georgia Awards Armor Health $4 Million Correctional Health Care Contract, Replacing NaphCare

Newton County, Georgia approved a contract with Armor Health on July 22, 2026, to provide correctional health care services at the Newton County Sheriff's Office Jail in Covington. Armor Health began providing services on August 1, replacing NaphCare.

The initial contract term is one year, with four optional one-year renewals. In an August 14, 2026, response to an OPEN MINDS inquiry, Newton County Sheriff's Office Records Custodian Sandy Williams said the county will pay Armor Health $366,666.67 per month for 11 months of service in fiscal year (FY) 2027, for a total of approximately $4 . . .
