North Carolina Creates New ‘Care Management Agency’ Certification For BH/IDD Tailored Plans
On May 29, 2019, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released information about its proposed certification process for “care management agencies” (CMAs) for the upcoming Behavioral Health/Intellectual and Developmental Disability Tailored Plan (BH/IDD Tailored Plan) launch in July 2021. CMAs can be behavioral health, addiction treatment, and disability support provider organizations that currently contract with the state or with the Local Management Entities/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs) that manage regional behavioral health services.
