North Carolina To Implement New Mental Health Crisis Prevention Projects In 2015
During 2015, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is planning to launch five new Crisis Solutions Initiative (CSI) projects focused on helping individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) avoid unnecessary institutionalization to receive supportive services and community-based housing. The projects are operated by the local management entities/managed care organizations (LME/MCOs) that manage the public behavioral health system.
