The eight-county region of North Texas is managing ongoing challenges facing children and families, according to a recent analysis assessing their quality of life and well-being. Challenges span health, economic security, safety, and education. Researchers for Children's Health, a large pediatric health care system in North Texas, collaborated with the University of Texas at Dallas Institute for Urban Policy Research for the analysis. The eight-county region includes Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, and Tarrant counties.
