Number Of Uninsured Americans Falls To All-Time Low Of 8.0% In Early 2022
The percentage of Americans without health insurance dropped to a historic low of 8% in the first quarter of 2022, or approximately 26.4 million individuals. The uninsured rate for adults ages 18 to 64 declined from 14.5% in late 2020 to 11.8% in early 2022 (or about 4.1 million adults). For children through the age of 17, the percentage without insurance fell from 6.4% in late 2020 to 3.7% in early 2022 (or about 1 million children).
