Number Of Urgent Care Centers In The U.S. Doubled Over A Decade

As of mid-2023, there were 14,832 urgent care centers in operation in the United States, double the 7,220 centers in 2014. Between the second quarter of 2019 and the second quarter of 2023, the number of urgent care centers increased by 25.2% (from 11,481 to the current 14,832), and utilization increased by 18.9% (excluding visits related to COVID-19).
