NYC Health + Hospitals To Pilot ‘Hotspotting’ Program To Improve Addiction Care

On April 15, 2025, New York City (NYC) Health + Hospitals announced Hotspotting, a pilot program to support people with opioid use disorder (OUD) and help them navigate health and social systems to obtain needed services. The pilot is expected to launch later in 2025.

For the Hotspotting pilot, about 150 people seen at the Lincoln Hospital emergency department for opioid use or a non-fatal overdose will be offered the following:

Connection to a team of community health workers and peer counselors who will regularly contact consumers to offer help connecting to services.
