Obesity Drugs Help Individuals Lose Weight That Was Regained Years After Bariatric Surgery

Anti-obesity medications, including semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic) and liraglutide (Saxenda), can effectively help consumers lose weight regained after bariatric surgery. Among people who had regained more than 40% of the weight lost after bariatric surgery, those who took semaglutide 1 mg weekly (Wegovy/Ozempic) for 12 months lost an average of 12.9% of their body weight. Those who took liraglutide 3 mg daily (Saxenda) lost 8.8% of their body weight.

Those who took Wegovy/Ozempic were more than twice as likely to have lost at least 10% of their body weight compared to those taking Saxenda. The results . . .
