SAMHSA Awards $4.8 Million In Supported Employment Grants
On August 6, 2014, the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded $4.8 million to six states selected for Transforming Lives Through Supported Employment grants. The states are Alabama, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Ohio, Utah, and Washington. The states will each received $800,000 per year for five years to enhance state and community capacity to provide and expand supported employment programs for adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) or co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders.
