An Ohio child welfare improvement task force identified seven core action areas of child welfare practice that must be addressed to improve the state’s child welfare system. Based on stakeholder feedback from public and private child services agencies, the seven identified areas include prevention, workforce issues, casework practice, kinship care, foster care, adoption, and the justice system. An Advisory Council has been formed to develop recommendations for addressing the seven core areas. The recommendations will be delivered to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine by May 2020.
