Ohio Legislature Amends Budget Bill To Review Closure Plans For Developmental Centers
On April 14, 2015, the Ohio House of Representatives made changes to the state biennial budget bill provisions affecting the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) budget proposal – including adding a requirement for a study of state plans to close Developmental Centers (DCs). The DODD plans were included in the budget legislation, Ohio House Bill (HB) 64, for fiscal years 2016 and 2017. On April 22, 2015, the Ohio House passed the substitute version of HB 64. The bill is now being reviewed by the Ohio Senate; on April 29, it was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
