Ohio Medicaid Allows Pharmacists To Bill For Services Within Community Behavioral Health Organizations
Starting January 17, 2021, Ohio Medicaid implemented a rule change that allows pharmacists to serve as rendering professionals for certain Ohio Medicaid services. The services will be reimbursable when provided by a pharmacist employed by a community behavioral health provider organization (Medicaid provider types 84 and 95). The billable services include medication management (under a consulting agreement with a prescribing professional), administering immunizations, and administering medications.
The medication management services can be billed using CPT codes 99202 or 99203 for evaluation and management (E/M) for a new consumer visit or codes 99211, 99212, or 99213 for E/M for . . .
