Ohio Medicaid Announces Six MCO Contract Awards; Decision On Incumbent Buckeye Is Deferred
On April 9, 2021, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) announced it had awarded six Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contracts, and had deferred for additional consideration regarding its decision related to incumbent Buckeye Community Health Plan. The MCO contracts are valued at more than $20 billion annually. The contracts will go live January 5, 2022, and the initial term will run through June 30, 2024, with optional one-year renewals each fiscal year.
