Ohio Medicaid Expands Access To Mental Health Peer Support Services
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) launched mental health mental health peer services as a state plan service, effective September 1, 2024. The service connects trained, certified peer supporters who are in recovery with people seeking support for similar conditions. The approach is designed to complement the role of therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health specialists in the treatment and recovery process.
