On April 5, 2021, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) announced it selected Aetna Better Health of Ohio as the managed care organization (MCO) for the state’s new Ohio Resilience through Integrated Systems and Excellence (OhioRISE) program for children with complex care needs. The contract goes live in January 2022, and will run through June 30, 2024. ODM anticipates OhioRISE enrollment at 55,000 to 60,000 children up to age 21 who have complex behavioral health needs and who are served by multiple state agencies.
