Oklahoma Lacks Accessible Services For Families In The Child Welfare System, Task Force Finds
The Oklahoma child welfare system lacks accessible services for families that could help children avoid out-of-home placement and reduce the amount of time children who are removed spend in foster care, and according to a review conducted by the Child Welfare Task Force. The task force subsequently made 18 recommendations in five domains to reduce time to permanency in the foster care system, reduce the number of reentry into foster care, address risk factors for removing children from their homes, and increasing support for biological parents.
