AmeriHealth Caritas Contracts With Ginger To Provide On-Demand Virtual Mental Health For D.C. Medicaid Consumers

Medicaid health plan AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia (DC) contracted with Ginger, which provides virtual on-demand mental health services, to provide the Ginger mobile app on-demand services for Medicaid beneficiaries. Starting July 28, 2021, approximately 110,000 AmeriHealth Caritas DC members now have access to Ginger’s behavioral health coaching, therapy, and psychiatry services at no cost. For members who need higher levels of care, a therapist or psychiatrist can be added to their care team for video-based sessions.
