One-Third Of Americans Trust Charitable Entities To ‘Generally Do What Is Right’

Americans have a low level of trust that non-profit organizations will generally “do what is right,” but they trust non-profit organizations more than other public entities or individuals, according to a survey of more than 1,000 adults during the summer of 2022. In total, 39% of the survey participants said they “completely/very much” trusted non-profit organizations to do what is right.

About 31% had a high level of trust in religious institutions; 20% had the same level of trust in colleges and universities; and 5.8% had the same level of trust in large corporations . . .
