Opioid use disorder (OUD) in the United States was estimated to cost $695,000 per person with OUD in 2022, according to a new analysis by Avalere Health. The estimated per-person annual cost of OUD accounts for health care costs, criminal justice costs, lost productivity, lower quality of life, and higher burden of illness.
