Oregon Health Care Costs Rose 49% Between 2013 & 2019, Driven By Rising Drug Costs
Health care costs in Oregon grew 49% per person across insurance markets, at an average growth rate of 6.9% annually between the years 2013 through 2019. Per person costs increased from $4,506 in 2013 to $6,713 in 2019. Pharmacy costs drove health care cost increases in all three markets over the six-year span, increasing by 93% in the commercial market, 185% in the Medicare market, and 79% in the Medicaid market.
