Oregon Medicaid Needs To Improve Access To Residential Treatment For Mental Health & Addiction
The Oregon Medicaid program should improve access to residential treatment for mental health and addiction disorder, according to a recent review by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Ombuds. The Ombuds noted that the state has only 47 residential addiction treatment facilities statewide, and the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) contracts with 36 of the facilities through 16 OHP Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs). However, each of the 16 OHP CCOs contracts with an average of nine residential facilities, and six CCOs contract with five or fewer residential facilities.
