Orlando Health Sues Liberty HealthShare For Back Payment Due To Fraud
On June 9, 2022, Orlando Health, a Florida-based non-profit health system, sued the faith-based medical cost-sharing ministry Liberty HealthShare (Liberty) for non-payment. Orlando Health alleged that Liberty advised its members to fraudulently conceal their membership in order to potentially qualify for charity care.
In August 2021, Liberty notified Orlando Health that it owed Orlando Health about $1.1 million for a large number of individuals or claims, which Liberty did not specifically identify.
