More than 1 billion people worldwide live with a mental disorder, according to data reported in World Mental Health Today, from the World Health Organization (WHO). “The economic consequences are enormous, with productivity losses significantly outstripping costs of care,” WHO stated. “Without smart, accelerated and coordinated action, hundreds of millions will continue to suffer unnecessarily, and the broader goals of sustainable development will remain out of reach.”
