Parkinson’s Disease Death Rate Among Older Adults Reached 72 Per 100,000 In 2024
In 2024, Parkinson’s disease claimed the lives of adults age 65 and older at an age-adjusted rate of 72.0 deaths per 100,000 standard population in the United States, according to recent government data. The rate increased from 57.2 deaths per 100,000 in 2014, peaked at 76.3 per 100,000 in 2021, and has declined modestly since then. Altogether, 39,935 Parkinson’s disease deaths were recorded among adults age 65 and older in 2024.
