Penn State Health & Highmark Invest $1 Billion To Create A Value-Based Community Care Network

On December 15, 2017, Penn State Health and insurer Highmark Health announced that they launched a strategic partnership to create a value-based community care network. The two organizations are investing $1 billion to launch the network.

The network will be anchored by the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, a regional university teaching and research hospital and Penn State Children's Hospital. Penn State Health will expand its outpatient provider network to offer more primary, specialty, and acute care locations across central Pennsylvania.
