Pennsylvania Creates New State Division For Charter School Oversight

On August 24, 2016, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) was creating a Division of Charter Schools to support charter school academic integrity. The new division will help charter school educators and leaders set goals to advance student achievement, increase parent and community involvement, and ensure robust accountability, both academic and financial. The academic integrity of cyber charter schools will be a priority.
