The Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) has launched Care For The Aging, a workforce development initiative focused on addressing staffing shortages in long-term care settings across the state.

According to the LeadingAge PA 2026 State of PA Nursing Homes Report, 68% of the 123 nursing homes that participated reported having more than five open direct care positions for certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, and registered nurses. The respondents represent 20% of all nursing homes in Pennsylvania.  

The PHCA initiative is designed to increase awareness of career opportunities in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living residences, and personal care homes . . .
