Pennsylvania Medicaid Will Reimburse For Center-Based ABA Under Certain Circumstances
The Pennsylvania Medicaid program will reimburse, under certain circumstances, for one-to-one individual and applied behavior analysis (ABA) services provided to children at a behavioral health center. However, in general, under the state’s new Intensive Behavioral Health Service (IBHS) regulations, services should be provided in a child beneficiary’s natural environment whenever possible.
The new IBHS regulations went into effect on January 17, 2021. They replace Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS).
