Pennsylvania Reduced The I/DD Services Emergency Waitlist By Nearly 20% Since February 2024
Pennsylvania reduced the home- and community-based services (HCBS) emergency waiting list by 19% between February 2024 and February 2025 for adults aged 21 and older with intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) and autism. People on the waiting list need services immediately or will need them within six months. In February 2024, there were 4,592 adults on the emergency waiting list. As of December 31, 2024, there were 3,703 adults on the emergency waiting list.
To help reduce the waiting list, the 2024-2025 budget provided $354.8 million in federal and state funding to provide more resources . . .
