Pennsylvania To Reduce Wait Times For Forensic Competency Restoration

On January 27, 2016, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced plans to create 120 new placement options to reduce wait times forensic competency restoration services at the Norristown State Hospital (Norristown) or Torrance State Hospital (Torrance). The new placements will be created within 180 days, and DHS will make at least $1 million available within the first 90 days of the agreement to create about 50 more placements as supportive housing in the City of Philadelphia.
