People Aged 65 And Older Accounted For 10.2% Of Medicaid Enrollment In 2023
People aged 65 and older accounted for 10.2% of the 94 million Medicaid beneficiaries in 2023, according to an analysis of federal and state Medicaid data. Adults eligible for Medicaid on the basis of disability accounted for 9.9% of beneficiaries. About 26.6% of beneficiaries were adults in the Medicaid expansion population, and 17.5% were adults who were not disabled or in the Medicaid expansion population. Children accounted for 35.9% of beneficiaries.
